Kapaa Art Machines

2017 - 2018

In this 8 lesson / 8 day high energy residency at Kapaa High School, selected students from AP Studio Art, Art 3, Broadcast Media, along with hand selected students who created sound design and assisted in engineering along with film editing, took on the monumental task of creating Art Machines - Mechanized creations that made a mark or dispersed color.

Three groups were assigned to create machines that utilized Whirligig technology, Rube Goldberg antics and chain reactions or turn pottery wheels into art making machines.

Critical thinking skills lead to explosions of color.
